Fulfilling weekend

It's the weekend!! Yay!! Holidays!! Hmm, actually I'm glad for the hols, but I know that I will still be super squeezed for time cos there are so much to do and I have too many commitments. Anyway....

Saturday was fun. Played badminton with Meow Meow, Emay jiejie and my fellow xiao kia "Blubbering Nonsense" (she wouldn't like this... Hee.) Fun round robin matches.

Afterward was dinner hang-out at Meow's place with Chien and Becky. Initially it was supposed to be a picnic at Botanical Gardens I think. But yesterday we were more in a nua-ing mood. So we got food... cheese sausages, BBQ chicken from Clementi (yummy!), 4 cheeses pizza, rice, gummy bears, tomatoes (the high crass ones), bananas, guava, etc. Quite chapalang... but very filling! We hung out in Meow's attic where we entertained ourselves with "In her shoes".... I love Dora from that movie! "Manipulative nincompoop".

Then Becky had to leave, so they sang me a silent Happy Birthday song for me... with a slice of mango cake and a tiny knife to cut it with. It was cute. Haha! Guess what? I even got a whole bunch of gigantic bananas, a bright yellow NIKE blouse, a pretty candle holder and the best of all.... CHEESE! Babybel and Brie cheese! Hahah! I thought it was a hilarious idea! But apparently it just proves how much my friends know me... Hee. Thank you God for putting these trustworthy friends in my life, who have been there during my high and low points in my life. though we hang out significantly less now, they will forever occupy a precious portion in my heart. I pray that God will bless this friendship of ours forever.

Then it was movie marathon with "The Pianist"... totally my kind of movie! I loved it! Heh. But it's depressing lah... all the atrocities of the Nazi soldiers against the Jews.

Sunday. Sunday school. I like teaching Sunday School. It's fun. Heh.
Went for a cell group lunch at Mac's. No wonder Emay jiejie so adamnatly told us NOT to wait for her, even though it was just 5 minutes. She came down with pressies for both Huifen and myself! I must say it's awesome! They were survival packs!
So this is what my dear cell got me...

1) Pipa kao (to soothe the throat)
2) Clorets (to freshen the breath especially during counselling of students)
3) Red pens (chosen based on experts' advice somemore!)
4) Oreo cookies (for energy)
5) Milo sweets (for energy)
6) Bookmark
7) Postcard which states, "Your future is not in the hands of your teachers. Your future is in your hands." (to tell students that they have responsibility for themselves. Teachers can only do that much.)
8) Packet of chrysanthemum flowers (to keep us alive? Heh.)
9) The best of all... BOUNCY the yellow ball! A stress ball which bounces and superb to squeeze!
10) A card from my loving cell. With quotes from them in a classroom... with daffy duck(ling) as the teacher. Duckling cos Daffy duck's in diapers. Apparently to symbolize me as the 'cannot grow up' kid. Hee.
Merf the dreamer: "Cher always knows when I'm dreamin!"
Emay jiejie the not so intellectual one: "Whoa! Cher so cweber one!"
Elaine the WISE one: "I know the answer to that."
Eliza the non-punctual one: "Sorry cher! I missed my bus!"

Hahaha! I thought it was really amusing! Thank you dearest cell for the survival kit!! I love you! Heh. Thank you God for blessing me with this cell...

Ohoh! Before I forget... I also received this really cute and cool bottle of teeny weeny (perfect) shells from Emay jiejie! Shells which were collected from the beach during her birthday, the day we played with Hermie the hermit crab. They are such miniatures I think they are fit for earrings! =) The entire bottle with the shells, I mean. Heh.

Then it was another session of badminton. It's so heartening to see Meow, Huifen and Emay improving! By leaps! Soon we can play proper competitions, I think.... Heh. They'll be able to thrash me in no time! Cos I suck. Haha! Oh well.... qing1 chu1 yu2 lan2, shen4 yu2 lan2....

Alritey, time to log off for dinner.
Doing a camp tmr... it's kind of a tradition to be in camp on my birthday? Haha! It has been since Secondary school! Hee.

Comments:
the chrysanthemum is for 'liang' yourself when you get too 'heated' by your students! heehee...

meow, huifen and i can only have improved because of your patient guidance and help... thank you my dear duckie wuckie for all that you've taught us and for all the times u stood there waiting for us to return your shot only to have to pick it up from below the net cos that's where we hit it to! haha...

May your day be as awesome as you are! God bless!

-Emay jiejie

Heh. Thanks emay jiejie for your long comment. Pooh loves Bouncy. Thinks that it's made of honey! HEE.

Nah, I didn't do much. You all are fast learners and very willing to train. Remember, "Ypur future is not in the hands of your teachers. Your future is in your hands." *grin*

yeah it is... but my coach guides me along and inspires me to improve... =)

oh dear... i think i see pooh bear headign towards bouncy with a big fat needle cos he wants to drink some honey!

Nah... Bouncy is too fast for Pooh Bear.. Pooh is slow and blur. *oops* Hope he doesn't read this when he logs on and uses Apple when I'm not around! *grin*
