Another fun-filled Sunday
4/6/06
Nice badminton session where we found Meow and HF super on form, Emay jiejie frustrated by the heat, Mel the drama-queen prancing around the court and bowing when she's praised, DW the cool, calm and collected one returning difficult shots etc. Quite fun. Especially when I got to stroke and lob with K and play games. But I guess the funniest had to be when Mel came up to K and said, "It was nice thrashing you.", which made us all look up in surprise, and then the blur one quickly corrected herself and went, "Oh, it was nice thrashing others with you!" Hahaha!
Oh, and a nice surprise visit from Linda and little Z and R! Soooo cuuuute!!! Apparently Emay jiejie's memory is so good that just by glancing at photos, she can recognize faces! Such that she ended up spotting and approaching Linda and her boys even before I noticed them! Gave Linda a fright when Emay jiejie asked her if she was Linda! Haha! Must have wondered how come she was so popular! Hee. And yeah, my pretty cousin-in-law doesn't look any bit like 30! =)
The next memorable exchange of the day had to be this.
"Do you know this house?"
"Yeah, it's Meow Meow's house."
Feeling a little suspicious by then.... with the heart beating fast.
"Do you know A?"
"Oh my gosh! That's Meow Meow's brother! You know him too?? The world is so small!"
Yeah, so it turns out that coincidences DO happen! Apparently, Almo is A's good friend and K's good friend. And so Almo is the main link. My gosh, the shock it gave us! In someone's description, "Stunned".
Dinner was good too at Daffy's Cafe.
1) Korean sotong
2) Teochew steamed fish
3) Winter melon soup with 5X bak kut
4) Stir-fried vegetables
5) Baked/Roasted black sauce drumsticks
Dessert menu included jackfruit, mango, koniyaku jelly and dou hua (good for postrate, guys) but it wasn't too popular with the customers cos we were stuffed.
So now, I am tired, stuffed, satisfied and happy. Good nite, world.
