Genting Rendezvous
25/5/06 - 27/5/06
A short getaway/escape to Genting.
Why Genting? It's near, it's cool, it's cheap! =) Like how it's "good, cute and nice"!
Yes people, I PLANNED to go Genting, and I ENDED up at Genting! *Beam* I could have ended up at Germany or something right? Haha!
I went Genting with a friend, a special friend. A casual move which turned out to be a good opportunity to kick it all off. I sincerely thank God for this chance to move a step ahead.
Anyway, deep thinking and reflection aside, here are some photos of G(ermany). Haha!
The bus was not bad, quite comf(y)table. Very spacious. Good for big fat butts. =) Was a 7-hour journey in which I spotted the Petronas Towers. ANd I must say that the suburbs of KL are really beginning to resemble Singapore! Could identify parts of Singapore there! Like Paya Lebar, Bukit Ho Swee and so on. Quite interesting to see their publc housing and out-of-town shopping malls. Nice change from the continuous palm tree scenery.
Well, we arrived at Genting. And stayed in a colourful hotel, termed Rainbow Hotel. Haha! But no, don't think too deep on "Rainbow". It's known as "First World Hotel".
First World Hotel
It's such a huge hotel that it look like a bus/train station! People moving up and down, people queueing, no personal service... To put it simply, nah, I don't like it. And to top it all off, the room was pretty squeezy, with none of the normal facilities, other than the basic beds, toilet, shower, tap, closet and a small tv. The tv didn't have cable, which upsetted me cos I wanted to watch "Spongebob Squarepants"! *pout* And their channels were really strange. You could only watch a limited number of shows (like 3), in a day, cos they repeat it 3 times throughout the day. And if you don't like it, too bad. But luckily there was "Oceans Twelve" (Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts!) that day.
K enough detail. The pigs got hungry, so in the search for food, we ended up at Coffee Terrace, which serves international buffet. There was yummy yummy grilled beef, la mian which they made on the spot, sashimi, chocolate mousse, etc etc. But all I can remember is the beef... ooh, "I feel it in my mouth..."
Buffet
Oh, the cable car. Guess how many times we took it?? SIX times! Courtesy of me! Heh. It's really really pretty! 3.4km of tropical rainforest, and you are above them. Easy canopy walk, no physical exertion at all. And you enjoy the whole scenery and weather in the comfort of a really spacious cablecar! When you look ahead, you see cablecars approaching you from the mist. And when you look to your sides, you see the peaks covered by the clouds/mist.... pretty are God's creations. If ever you go Genting, go on the cable car. I recommend it. =)

When people think of Genting, they think casino. When I think of Genting, I think of highlands... yeah, and good weather. But since there's casino, we decided to go "see see look look". I didn't like it cos I was putting myself up for second-hand smoke pollution! But it was a good eye-opener, I must say. Different tables of different games. But the amount of money exchanging hands is incredible. Poeple can just place bets of $200/$300 without much thought! *Ouch so pain* But yeah, I know these are still considered small peas. Gambling is such a bane to society! Imagine all the social, economic, psychological problems resulting from it! Temptation.
But for the fun and experience of it, we played 10 ringgit on the jackpot, and when we won 8 ringgit, we left. Haha! So kiasi.
And my gosh, plastic-ky tall, slender European gals, scantily-clothed, and of course, dancing sexily. For ah-peis. *gross*
You would expect me to go on the roller-coasters and exciting rides in the outdoor theme park right? But no, this time round I was a slacker, a nua-er. I stayed in the indoor themepark, enjoying kiddy rides, ferris wheel and bumper car! I lurrve bumper car! I think it's awesome when you are in the arena and playing with strangers. And being cheeky and bumping them and knowing that it's all in the name of fun. I made friends with this little boy, probably 6 years old. We got excited talking about which colour car we wanted and all. And just before our turn, he jumped on my feet! Cheeky little boy! Haha! And of course we had lots of fun bumping the cars! Compared to someone who preyed on innocent, vulnerable victims! *atrocious*
Now, let's come to the food part. An essential part of life. (My life at least! Hee.)

Yeah, so short as it was, it was fun. The walks in the nice weather, the search for food, the arcade (Photo-hunt craze!), the relaxation. I like. Heh.
Who's up for another short trip??
