To Bangalore no more...
What happened??
BOOBOOO!!! (once again...)
ROUND 1: SHOCK
I was happily savouring my food at Kenny Rogers when I received a phone call. And it was the beginning of a rude shock.
Pengy: Are you bringing your phone?
Me: Huh?
Me: Yah.
Pengy: So what time are we meeting later?
Me: Huh?! (Thoughts fly and my mind is in a whirl.)
Me: (upon realization...) Today meh?! I haven't packed and I'm still outside!!
Apparently we were flying today! The itinerary was 2/12/06 at 125am. That meant that I had to be at the airport on 1/12/06 at 1125pm! But all the while, I thought I was flying on the night of the 2nd!! Anyway, I had 4 hours till the plane took off.
So Kel had a heart attack as well, although he tried to mask it by 'calmly' gobbling down his food, then rushing to the taxi stand to wait for a taxi who didn't mind picking up customers instead of being on call. Heh. He was seemingly so gancheong that he was farting all the time! =)
I calmly packed everything and waited to go to the airport. Honestly, my heart was beating quite fast and I didn't know what to think, cos it was gonna be an adventure in India, coupled with the geography of fear of ABNN. I wasn't feeling too well also, being plagued by constant headaches these days. I felt like I was just being whizzed around, and that the time had come too early.
We finally reached the airport and queued to check in.
ROUND 2: SHOCK AGAIN
Lady over the counter: Where's your visa?
Pengy and me: Huh?
Lady over the counter: Singapore citizens need a visa to enter India.
Pengy and me: Huh??!
Lady over the counter walks off to double-check.
I pray really really hard that everything will work out fine.
Lady over counter returns with someone supposedly more senior than her.
More senior lady: I'm sorry, but Singapore citizens do require a visa to enter India. No airlines will take you. I've checked, India doesn't allow you to buy a visa upon arrival, nor do they issue electronic ones. You have to go to the Indian Embassy and apply for one. However, I'm not sure how long they take to issue one. And you definitely cannot obtain one over the weekend. Maybe you would like to proceed to Counter One to change your dates before we close...
Pengy and me: (In shock)
After much hassle, we realised that it was almost impossible to change the dates of our flight because of clash in schedule and availability of flight. The poor counter 1 lady looked really tired while doing her utmost to help us. She was concerned with the high amount of money we had to top up and all.
Finally, she said.
"I'll try to change sector for you. We're not supposed to do this, but we can try."
Me: (tired from the shock and the recurrent headache): Ok. Anything will do.
Me: Oh, but what do you mean 'change sector'?
It meant we could change our destination!! Woohoo!! I prayed really really hard that this would work out.
So we chose a destination. Whereabout do you think that is??
*Drum roll*
TAIPEI!!
Yes, so we are on our way to Taiwan... and the dates worked out fine too! Yay!!
Really thank God for His guidance and blessing in everything.
"I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)
Thanks Pengy for the phonecall and going through this (mis)adventure with me. I will try my best to amuse you and take care of you when we are over there. Heh.
Thanks Kel for standing by me through it all, for helping me keep my sanity, and for being my strength when I am weak.
Thanks Mummy for loving me despite my booboos. (I think she's used to me already. Not any ordinary person can qualify to be my mummy.)
And as for me, I strengthen the hearts of those around me. That's why life is an adventure with me around. *Bows*
